Graphic artist Corita Kent developed her work through observation, critique, and production within the everyday graphic landscape. In the 1960s and 70s, she drew language from advertising and food packaging, recombining slogans to reveal poetic and critical meanings. The supermarket became her reference point, and through silkscreened posters she returned these transformed messages to public space.
